About me...

Born in the UK, the first 17 years of my life were spent, like most young people, ‘just living in the moment’. Music did, and still does, play a large part in my life. Four years were spent performing in London in a rock band.

Moving from music to art was a natural progression culminating in a BA Arts Hons (graphic design) from Chelsea School of Art. Many enjoyable years were spent working in advertising, publishing (including Penguin books), graphic design and with BBC Television.

Then came the move to New Zealand where my love of the ‘creative’ saw me working for TV3 and TVNZ (freelance and documentaries), in computer animation, advertising, opening titles for TV work and then on to lecturing at various universities and polytechnics.

In 1996 I opened NDC New Media (a graphic design company based in Whangarei). Building on past experiences I branched out in to campaign & project management, re-branding work and all types of media including newspaper, radio and print houses.

Alongside my business life, I have managed to indulge my own passion for painting as well as coaching new and emerging artists and curating exhibitions.

The next step …

During the last few years I have noticed a number of people from all walks of life, stopping to assess “where to next” – not only for their career, but also their whole lifestyle. And I am no exception!

For me, it is time to extend my creativity to my own work and to further assist other artists, both emerging and established, to showcase their unique talent. 30 years in design, advertising, marketing, teaching and curating, is all coming together. The idea of a boutique gallery running parallel to the design business, was born.
